Notes & Inside References

  • It is very unreasonable why Cate is residing in a hotel in Frankfurt as it is 135 Kilometres away from Bremerhaven, the city that the Cargo Freighter departed from. The only possible solution is that Cate needed to reside somewhere far away from the sunken freigher and thug infested warehouses.
  • There are two Frankfurts in Germany. Frankfurt am Main and Frankfurt an der Oder. It is more likely that Frankfurt am Main is the intended location because Frankfurt (Oder) is situated in East Germany and suffered great damage after the war. It was also divided in two, the westend belonging to East Germany and eastend belonging to Poland.
  • When Cate leaves for her room, the receptionist is briefly shown bending down. A gesture that is made by civilians when they are at gunpoint. This could hint that the "Room Service" thug followed her from the very beginning.
  • In the Courtyard, there is a flag saying "Oktoberfest" This is incorrect as the Oktoberfest, an annual German festival, only takes place in Munich, Bavaria. Of course it could only be propaganda.
  • Unlike the other frightful civilians who seek cover when coming across a dead body, a maid with a cockney accent gives out to Cate, stating "I'm not cleaning up this mess!" Friendly fire at her, also doesn't frighten her, but the bullets do kill her.
  • An alternative intellegence item, taking the form of either a long tape or a small film roll hints to the Antagonists Inge and Armstrong. The tape being Inge's song "Ode to Daisy" and the film showing Armstrong and his drinking tendancies.
  • The director, disguised as a drunk, makes his third appearance and is seen twice. Once in the middle of scene 1 and a second time at the end of scene 2.
  • While moving through the airduct, it breaks at one stage and Cate lands in a huge barrel of beer. The hotel appears to have its own beer brewing tradition.
  • A time or date is not given in scene 3 and this causes confusion because it was night time in the first two scenes and very bright in scene 3. The only explanation is that it was late at night to begin with and the trip to the sea took several hours slotting the time into the early morning.
  • Cate travels through rooms in the freighter that haven't been entered in "A Tenuous Lead" but the kitchen that Inge and Armstrong were in can be found near the captain's quarters.
