Archer suffers the effects of poison gas.
Poison gas is a gaseous hazard encountered by Cate Archer in two specific missions. When encountered, Archer starts choking and having hallucinations flying of goats, reducing her health. A green skull and crossbones icon indicates that the player is being poisoned.
- Cyanide-tipped bullets also produce this same effect.
When Archer interviews Baron Dumas at his residence, he informs her that Infrared Beams guard the safe at the Dumas Towers. If one of the beams is tripped, the doors lock and poisoned gas is released into the safe.
- Baron Dumas provides this information if the right sequence is selected during the interview.
While attempting to retrieve the antidote for herself, Archer encounters a trapped room that fills with poison gas. She has to use the Belt Buckle to reach the second level and get to the system that will clear the room of the gas and replace it with fresh air.
