Changes: Mr. Jones

Mr. Jones is the director/chief of UNITY. He features prominently in The Operative: No One Lives Forever. He is less prominently featured in the sequel. Mr. Jones has been an officer in the British Army during World War II. Mr. Jones is an overweight, bald person and is mostly seen wearing a black suit and black tie. He is not as negative towards Cate Archer and the idea of female operatives as Mr. Smith, but he only allows Cate to perform the high-profile missions because of the huge shortage of manpower.

In the second game Mr. Jones only appears three times. First time is when he appoints Bruno Lawrie as Temporary Director of UNITY and goes to vacation for the first time in 15 years (his own words). Second time, we see him on a vacation resting and drinking and finally at the end of the game, when he returns to UNITY asking Bruno what has happened while he was on vacation.

A few years before 1967, UNITY lost several agents in Istanbul due to "leaky plumbing". The traitor turned out to be Mr. Jones' administrative assistant who had sold them out for 50 Quid.
