The Mark VII Mechanized Mynah Bird was developed by Santa as a perfect way to communicate with UNITY agents in the field. It appears as a common black Myna bird, however it has glowing green eyes.
Santa uses the Mark VII Mechanized Mynah Bird to train the player in the game basics at the start of the Cate Archer Must Die mission. A player wishing to collect all the Skill Points should listen to the first three training sessions provided by Santa. Various guidance in this first mission includes the uses of skills and equipment. Santa also warns the player when stealth is recommended.
While in Siberia, Santa used the Mark VII Mechanized Mynah Bird to provide Cate Archer the location to set the Explosives under the bridge as well as the location of the Communications Tower. When Mischa is captured by Soviet Army soldiers, Santa uses the Mark VII Mechanized Mynah Bird to warn Archer to rescue her pilot if she wishes to come home. Later he warns Archer that H.A.R.M. thugs are attempting to blow up her Airplane.
While in Calcutta, India, Santa utilizes the Mark VII Mechanized Mynah Bird to warn Archer that the Calcutta Police are now looking for her since they think she murdered Kamal Khubchandani's contact.
When UNITY is airdropping in canisters of the Anti-Super Soldier Serum, developed by Dr. Schenker, to the island nation of Khios, Santa uses the Mark VII Mechanized Mynah Bird to guide her to the location.
Trivia
- If the player attempts to damage the bird by shooting it or hitting it with a melee weapon, Santa will immediately chastise the player for attempting to damage the expensive equipment.
- On certain missions, the Mark VII Mechanized Mynah Bird will be on the ground. If you hit it with a Snowmobile, Santa will react as if you shot the bird.
