Briefing[edit | edit source]
The trail of clues has led Cate and Armstrong to a secret facility in Antarctica where H.A.R.M. is conducting Project: Omega. Once they discover its actual nature, they can plot a means of disrupting it
Assuming they don't strangle each other first.
Synopsis[edit | edit source]
Scene 1: Characters[edit | edit source]
Bruno Lawrie and Isaac Barnes discuss the lack of time to resolve the issue, which General Morgan Hawkins sees as a potential return to the action he wants. Meanwhile Archer, Armstrong and Mischa are traveling in an airplane bound for the H.A.R.M. Antarctica Base, with the former two arguing over their failure to subdue Pierre. As the airplane draws near, they spot smoke coming from the base.
At H.A.R.M. Headquarters, The Director takes yet another Telephone call from his Mother, giving her only a short time to speak before turning his attention to a H.A.R.M soldier. The soldier reports that they have sent a unit out to the base, but is worried about a certain problem.
- These are two separate cutscenes.
Scene 2: Antarctica[edit | edit source]
- 11:30 a.m.
Things are eerily quiet as Armstrong and Archer leave the airplane. Armstrong waits by the entrance while Archer has a look around. She comes across a scientist who is only able to warn her about someone, supposedly another man, running amok before dying. Moving further into the complex, she finds signs of structural damage and hastily made barricades. Her searches turn up information on a U.S. Army soldier named Lieutenant Joseph Anders, who had been captured by H.A.R.M. for experimentation in order to create an army of super soldiers. She also finds a memo from The Director to send a unit of them to India due to the local H.A.R.M branch's failure to prevent Archer from breaking in to their vault.
Just then, Lt. Anders bursts through a wall, now a transformed, yet delirious super soldier. Noticing that he is invulnerable to damage from weapons, Archer sneaks her way out of the base, dodging attacks from his lasers. On her way back to the entrance, she finds two surviving scientists, one of whom is killed almost immediately, while the other closes an electric gate. He explains that Lt. Anders was not under complete control since they did not apply enough chemicals to negate his strong willpower. After Archer picks up some wire, Lt. Anders tears down the wall and kills this scientist, continuing his pursuit.
She returns to Armstrong only to find a barricade in the way, forcing her to clear it out with explosives. This not only traps him under some rubble, but also damages a power supply which temporarily stuns Lt. Anders, as well as disable his laser vision. Archer remains behind to get Armstrong free but is unable to, even after Mischa appears to inform her of enemy helicopters closing in on the area. At the same time, Lt. Anders catches up to where they all are, with Armstrong, still stuck, grabbing his leg to hold him back.
Nearing the airplane, Archer casts one last look at the compound before she and Mischa leave.
Memorable quotes[edit | edit source]
Mother "Aunt Phyllis tells me you still haven't called her. The woman is lying on her deathbed and you can't be bothered to make a telephone call."
The Director "Mother, Aunt Phillis used to keep me locked in the cellar whenever you sent me to stay with her."
Mother "If I'd known what an ingrate you'd turn out to be, I would have locked you in the cellar too! If your father..."
The Director "Goodbye, Mummy. Lovely to hear your voice."
Mother "Don't you hang up on me."

Trivia[edit | edit source]
- This chapter name is in reference to the 1968 movie, Ice Station Zebra
- If the player opens the first electric gate and walks on, they can go back to it before going out into the courtyard. There, they can see the scientist who will motion them later to safety. However he will not say or do anything until Lt. Anders has been released.
- The player can find a memo where Dmitrij Volkov describes the demise of Baroness Dumas. This is a callback to the events in The Operative: No One Lives Forever.
