Dr. Karl Kussman is a scientist (and quite mad) for the criminal organization H.A.R.M. He headed up the secret weapons program known as Project Omega out of the H.A.R.M. Antarctica Base. He enjoys playing Ping Pong, intelligent conversations and drinking Tea.
In 1968 UNITY agent Cate Archer infiltrated the India branch of H.A.R.M. in an attempt to find any information on Project: Omega. Inside the vault she found a letter from Dr. Karl Kussman to Anoop Banerjee inviting him to come to Antarctica.
Dr. Kussman had sent a memo to the Director regarding Super Soldier test subject #42 (Lt. Joseph Anders) who was not responding to the conversion process. Dr. Kussman was worried about Lt. Anders' strong family ties. The Director responded that he didn't want to hear any excuses otherwise he would find a mad scientist that would get the job done.
After Dmitrij Volkov had his skiing accident in the Swiss Alps, Dr. Kussman sent him a get well card. This surprised Volkov as he had assassinated Dr. Kussman's uncle several years earlier in Oslo. Dr. Kussman was very close to this uncle.
Dr. Kussman was very enthusiastic for the success of Project Omega. He exclaimed in a memo that 1986 would be known as the Year of Omega.
While searching the Antarctica base, a member of the UNITY Intercept Team found a memo from Dr. Kussmann that all remaining subjects and material from Project Omega was being transferred to the H.A.R.M. Underwater Base in the Aegean Sea.
